The strongest starting point is a drawing or envelope, the working air gap, mating steel details, required holding force, operating temperature, coating exposure and annual volume. If those values are not final, Eclipse Magnetics can still provide a decision tree that shows which unknowns matter most.

Sometimes, but only when the available volume, pole face area and circuit design can compensate for lower energy density. Our engineers compare the geometry first, because material price alone rarely tells the full cost of the magnetic system.
